A Thank You From:

Jackie O’Bannon, Antioch Educational Center

I am writing to thank you, the members of All Saints, and the other donors who have made your wonderful announcement possible.

As you are aware, AEC sponsors the Jasper County Backpack Buddies Program where EACH Friday (throughout the school year), children receive bags of food that we stuff in their backpacks. This food often serves as the only and main portions of food that these children will have to get them through the weekend.

With the help of All Saints, and a few other generous donors, AEC was able to provide 350 backpacks in 2019 (200 went to Hardeeville Elementary and 150 went to Ridgeland Elementary). This year, because Jasper County students will be taught at home, AEC had been attempting to up that number to 600 backpacks to be filled each Friday when the parents come to the schools to pick up the food for their children.

Well, AEC has been successful in raising all of the $95,600 needed to reach this goal with the exception of the last $2,200. I had asked everyone and every agency I could think of to help raise the last $2,200, but we were still short. After several conversations earlier this week with the Backpack Buddies Committee, we had found ourselves up against the wall for the last $2,200.  Then we received your email. WOW!!! $1870 from the All Saints Garden Tour!

As you know often times the least ends up being the chief cornerstone. So is the case with your donation.  Since your email, I will surely be able to get the remaining amount, even if I end up writing the check myself.  What you/All Saints have done is nothing short of spectacular. Your donation will actually feed 11 students for an entire year. How can that be less than spectacular?

So, on behalf of all who you have helped with this outstanding donation, I am so proud to be the one to tell you “THANK YOU.” Over the last several years,  All Saints has helped so many of our hungry children in Jasper County. I am sure that the angels are smiling and nodding in approval and agreement as I send this email.

Please take care, stay healthy, and know that you and your work are so greatly appreciated.
