Invitation to Participate in 2021 Artist Poster Contest

 

For the past 30+ years, All Saints Episcopal Church has held a spring garden tour.  The proceeds of the Garden Tour are donated entirely to charitable organizations. In recent years, the garden tour has donated approximately $25,000 to $30,000 a year to numerous local charities. Over time, more than $500,000 has been donated.

 

Since 2003, an integral part of this charitable endeavor has been the Artist Poster Contest. Hundreds of local artists have entered works in this competition, and many have sold their work as a result. The work selected for the Garden Tour Poster is displayed throughout Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

 

As we prepare for our 32nd Garden Tour, we would like to invite you to enter one two-dimensional piece of garden-related art in the poster competition. Flowers, gardens, birds, bees, butterflies, frogs, fountains, floral landscapes and abstracts are acceptable subjects for entries. Works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastels, mixed media, photography and colored pencil are acceptable.  The piece selected for the poster must be vertically oriented, roughly 12×10 in scale.  All art must be for sale during the show at a price specified by the artist.  The artist receives 65 percent of all sold artwork and 35 percent is donated to the Garden Tour.

The submitted art will be hung in the main corridor of the Hilton Head Regional Medical Center during the month of February 2021. All hospital visitors will be invited to vote for the People’s Choice Award. All submissions will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award.   Up to 70 entries will be included in the show.

 

Procedure for Entry

Send an email to gardentourentry@gmail.com. Your email should contain “ENTRY” in the subject and the following information:

• Name

• Address

• Email address

• Telephone number

• Medium you expect to use for the submission

• Title (Optional. Title can be determined later.)

• Price (Optional. Price can be determined later,)

Send your non-refundable entry fee of $20 payable to “All Saints Garden Tour”, All Saints Episcopal Church, 3001 Meeting Street, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926. Be sure to include your name, address, and email address with your payment. We will continue to accept entries until early January.
