All Saints Episcopal Church, Hilton Head Island, SC
On May 8, 2004, All Saints dedicated the third house that All Saints
has sponsored and constructed at the Habitat site in Brendan Woods,
Bluffton. For this third house, All Saints worked together with
Congregation Beth Yam and had additional construction help from Queen
Chapel AME.
Over 75 volunteers from these three organizations formed teams, working one day each week over a 12 week construction period to complete this house. Additional volunteers provided food and beverages for our daily work crews. This All Saints Outreach Project is very rewarding and, frankly, quite good fun for all those who participate.
All Saints has sponsored a new house once every 12 or 18 months and likely will choose to do so again. Some of our volunteers have continued to work construction at the Habitat site on houses sponsored by other organizations. Habitat has already built 27 houses at this Brendan Woods community. Habitat is building 10 to 12 houses each year at this site and welcomes volunteers wishing to help with this construction. To visit or work at Brendan Woods drive into the center of Bluffton on Route 46. Turn right on Pin Oak Street, immediately after the Squat & Gobble Restaurant. Brendan Woods is one block from Route 46. After the stop sign go straight through into the community.
