Our Cherub Nursery for Newborns through Two Years of Age is located on the first floor of the parish house at the end of the main hallway and is open Sundays at 9am.

Children’s Sunday School, for 3 year-olds through 5th grade, begins at 10am in the prayer room adjacent to the parish hall and then at 10:15 all will proceed to the children’s classroom upstairs in the parish house. For more information contact Loni Saunders at 686-3990.

Centering Prayer Please join us in the prayer room adjacent to the parish hall on Mondays at 11:15am. All are welcome…come discover and experience twenty minutes of silence, in which we open our hearts to God. Centering Prayer will continue to meet on Wednesdays at 9:15am in Sun City. Temporary venue is at the home of Dale and Fred Finn, 42 Lazy Daisy Drive, 705-2317.

What is Qigong? Qigong (Chi Kung) is an ancient Chinese health care systems that was developed in Chinese monasteries, hospitals and imperial courts before the written word. It integrates movements, breathing techniques, focused attention and self-applied massage. Anyone can practice it from the very young to the very old. The movements are easy to learn and can be performed standing, sitting or lying down, and can be adapted for physical limitations. No special equipment, clothing, or practice areas needed. Each Monday and Thursday for the months of January and February Qigong will be held in the parish hall beginning at 9am and will last roughly 40 minutes. Cost is only $2 per person. No signup necessary.

Family Promise Night at our local Pizza Hut Restaurants is Tuesday the 3rd from 5-9pm. Every month on the first Tuesday, 20% of your purchase, with their special discount flyer will be donated to Family Promise of Beaufort County. These flyers are available on the black credenza in the parish house foyer.

Men’s Breakfast Group Our next men’s breakfast is scheduled for Thursday the 5th, 8:30am, at the Original Pancake House, on the left hand side of the road, at the Moss Creek traffic light. Thursday Mornings at 11 Resumes on the 5th with THE SECOND HALF OF LIFE: Spirituality for the Journey. Led by the rector, the class will explore the challenges that are present in the second half of life and spiritual awareness and development that brings that period of time to fulfillment. We will use the book, "Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the two Halves of Life”, by Richard Rohr. Books are available from the rector...cost is $12.19.

All Saints Annual Meeting with Brunch will be held in the parish hall immediately following the Single Holy Eucharist service on Sunday the 8th. Brunch will be served prior to the meeting. New Vestry and Foundation Board members will be elected, Church News will be reported, and the ever-popular All Saints Telephone Directory will be made available to everyone who attends! A sign up sheet is posted on the parish hall bulletin board. Children ages 3-12 (Sunday School participants) will eat with their family and then go upstairs to the Upper Room for a special program of their own.

Wednesday Night at All Saints will be held on the 11th at 5:45pm. Please join us as we kick-off the new year with An Evening with James. Dinner is served first in the parish hall and will be followed by an introduction, dramatic reading and discussion of what may be the oldest book in the New Testament. Leader will be Bob Taylor. MLK Community Breakfast will be held in the parish house on Saturday the 14th at 8am. After the breakfast, work crews will go out into the community to perform much needed service work, indoors and out. Wear appropriate weather work clothes & gloves and closed toe shoes. Don’t forget to bring a friend!

2012 All Saints Supper Clubs ‘Pot Luck Dinner’ is Tuesday, January 17 at 6pm in the parish hall. Supper Clubs are fun and new groups will be formed for 2012. These informal dinners generally take place once a month in a parishioner’s home or other venue agreed upon by the group. Group members alternate as hosts. Each group assigns a coordinator who assists in planning. If you do not wish to entertain in your home, consider being a floater! At the ‘Pot Luck’, group and coordinator listings will be posted. Supper Club forms are located in the church narthex, parish house foyer and in the parish hall. Bringing the Scriptures to Life, Parts 1 & 2 of this 5-part Small Group program, presented by Mark Brinkmann, were held last fall in the Sun City-Riverbend area. Beginning with January 18, parts 3, 4, and 5 will be presented with one each in the Sun City/Okatie/Callawassie&Spring Island areas. Time is 5pm; Venue to be announced soon, so stay tuned! Interfaith Friends (a Social Group for Widows or Widowers) This ecumenical group was formed to assist widows or widowers to get on with their lives by fostering new friendships with those in the same life situation. Chamber Music Charleston will return to Hilton Head Island for an evening of classical music on Monday January 23, 7:30pm, here at All Saints Episcopal Church. The program will feature music for flutes, bassoon and harpsichord including Bach’s Sonata in G Major, BWV 1039, Villa Lobos Bachianas Brasileiras No. 6 for flute and bassoon and Haydn’s London Trio No. 1 in C Major. Performing artists include flutists Regina Helcher Yost and John Samuel Roper, bassoonist Sandra Nikolajevs and harpsichordist Julia Harlow. All Saints’ first Family Promise Week for the new year will be January 29-February 4. We will be home for two or three families for the week and this is an opportunity for you to reach out to those in need. They will be spending weeknights and all day Saturday February 4 with us. All Saints volunteers will be hosts to these families, preparing an evening meal and playing, talking and eating with the guests. Other volunteers will stay overnight. Volunteers will also transform our Sunday school, office space and choir room into bedrooms for the families. We are pleased that members of Congregation Beth Yam, The Chapel Without Walls and North Island Baptist Church will be assisting and supporting our mission to these families. Men are especially needed to interact with the guests. Volunteer sign up sheets will be available soon in paper and on our website www.allsaints-hhi.org.
