Sunday Adult Christian Education The Dead Sea Scrolls. In 1947, the discovery of ancient documents in the caves of Qumran near the Dead Sea shook the world of biblical studies. They contain not only our oldest copies of biblical texts, but additional materials which provide an unprecedented view of Jewish life before and during the time of Jesus. This DVD course, taught by Professor Gary A. Rendsburg of Rutgers University, attempts to bring the Dead Sea Scrolls to light in a meaningful way for a 21st century audience. All programs will be held in the parish hall at 9 am and all are welcome!
