Director of Music
Dr. Jason A. Wright is director of music and organist here at All Saints Episcopal Church, where he directors a program consisting of choral and instrumental ensembles for children, youth, and adults. He also oversees the music for Saturday@5, the Arts at All Saints Concert Series, and music education in the All Saints Preschool.
He has served as a church musician for twenty-one years, primarily in Episcopal and Lutheran congregations. Prior to his appointment at All Saints, he taught on the collegiate level for close to a decade including The University of South Carolina; in a private Episcopal School as music specialist and chair of the department for four years; founded his own community and professional choir in NC; and taught privately. His research has been published in The Journal of the Anglican Association of Musicians, the New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (McNeil Robinson), and The Organist’s Companion. An article on the Choral Music of McNeil Robinson is pending with The Choral Journal. He is an active member of the Anglican Association of Musicians, the American Guild of Organists, American Choral Directors Association, and the Royal School of Church Music in America. He has given workshops, adjudicated choral festivals, appeared as guest conductor, and given recitals at prestigious venues across the United States and the UK.
Dr. Wright holds advanced degrees and graduate certificates with honors in choral conducting, music education, sacred music, organ performance, and higher education administration from The University of South Carolina, The University of North Carolina – Greensboro, East Carolina University, and Indiana University - Bloomington.
Michael Cole, suborganist
Mike has played organ for over 40 years in various denominations, throughout the northeast, mid-west, and South Carolina. He loves hymn improvisation and all types of liturgical music. His education has been through private study and experience. Mike is a member of American Guild of Organists and is a local substitute organist when not singing in the Parish Choir at All Saints. Most recently, Mike was the organist at historic Church of the Cross in Bluffton.
Dr. Brian Taylor, D.S.M., friend of the parish and Evensong organist
Brian Taylor has been an active church musician for over forty years, having served Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Episcopal and Catholic congregations in Michigan, New Jersey, Alabama, Texas, Tennessee, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. He holds the Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, the Master of Divinity degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, the Master of Music and Master of Sacred Music degrees from Southern Methodist University and the Doctor of Sacred Music degree from the Graduate Theological Foundation where he serves as a part-time professor of sacred music. Currently he serves as Interim Organist-Choirmaster of Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Savannah, Georgia. Between 2014 and 2017 he had three associations with All Saints Church in different capacities and maintains a connection with this parish when needed.
